66 years ago, the gorgeous dress in the images below was brought to life and filled with love that will never be forgotten. Today was the 66th Wedding Anniversary of my Grandparents. I'm sure today was a bittersweet struggle for my Grandmother, mixed with joy from a lifetime of precious memories and the overwhelming sadness of missing my Grandfather terribly every single day, since his passing last fall. They had the beautiful gift of true love and it was radiant!
Colorado was a very special place to my Grandparents. My Grandfather went to college there. My Grandmother's family had a home at the foot of the mountain in Colorado Springs and together they created and shared many memories in Colorado.
When I was in Colorado earlier this summer with my daughters, I was able to take my Grandmother's wedding dress with me. I was able to photograph my daughter Taylor in it just for our enjoyment. It was fun to imagine just how exquisite my Grandmother was in it on her wedding day. From the photographs I've seen and I can only imagine what a spectacular wedding my Grandparents had. I'm honored, privileged and blessed to be part of the union they built...their family, my family.
I miss my Grandfather everyday, but carry his love and positivity with me always. I love and miss my Grandmother too, as we live in different states. I'm so proud to have the most lovely, beautiful and kind Grandmother ever! I love you Grandma and know that Grandpa is always watching over you!
